9/26/08 Lake Orion vs Troy Athens W 35-0

The huge homecoming crowd got to see a great display of offense and defense as the Dragons controlled every part of this game.  The Dragons scored first quarter TD’s by Running backs Mikael Lott and Kym Bruce.  In the second quarter the Dragons scored on a TD pass from Sean Charette to Mike Nelson and a TD run by Vinnie Booker.  The Dragons finished the scoring in the 3rd quarter after an opening 2nd half Kick off return by Lott down to the Athens 30, followed soon after by a 19 TD run by Kym Bruce, his second on the day.

The offensive line, lead by Senior Co-Captain Tyler Benson was nearly perfect the entire day giving QB Charette plenty of time on pass plays and giving the running game huge holes at the line of scrimmage.  Sophomore running back Marques Stevenson continued his solid play at running back with 10 carries for 85 yards. 

The defense was very tough for the 2nd straight week not allowing a point by the opposition.  Charles Fleck had 2 interceptions.  It seemed like the Athens offense moved backwards on most of there drives because of hard hitting plays by the likes of Linebackers, Kevin Loney, Kane Hayes and AJ Gill. 

The Dragons will need to have another good effort next week when they take on a very tough Troy High team when both teams are in the hunt for a playoff spot.  Come out and support the Dragons at Troy next Friday.
